The Assets Disposal function is a pivotal mechanism to strategically mark specific assets as disposed of within the organization. This structured feature ensures assets are correctly documented when taken out of service, ensuring that asset inventories remain accurate and current.

The Assets Disposal feature highlights:

  1. Structured Recording: Specify mandatory fields such as the Store and Disposal Date before marking assets as disposed.
  2. Safety Protocols: Warning prompts ensure users confirm actions, safeguarding against unintentional disposal records.
  3. Real-time Refresh: Automatic updates after each asset serial number input to maintain data accuracy.
  4. Integrated Lookup: Quickly identify asset IDs using serial numbers with the integrated DLookup function.
  5. Role-based Access: The form only opens for users with the requisite permissions, ensuring only authorized personnel can dispose of assets.
  6. Convenient Disposal Management: With a dedicated button in the subform, you can easily delete records before finalizing the disposal process

Step-by-Step Assets Disposal

To systematically dispose of assets, adhere to the subsequent steps:

  1. Initiate Assets Disposal Process:

    • Launch the Assets Module Main Menu.
    • Choose the “Assets Disposal” option.

2.  Provide Disposal Details:

  • Input the Store where the asset was held (Assets Location).
  • Define the Disposal Date when the asset was or will be taken out of service.

3. Select Assets for Disposal

  • select the asset serial number (Asset_SN) you intend to dispose of.
  • Post selection, the Asset ID will auto-populate using the provided lookup function.
  • Before confirming, you can delete any unintended selections using the provided deletion button.
  • Add any remarks related to this transaction to provide more clarification or reason for the assets disposed of.
  •  Add all the assets you want to dispose of line after line.

4. Confirm Disposal:

  • Click Dispoe now to save the modifications. 
  • Heed the warning message: “Warning! All the assets you inserted will be reported as disposed, you will not be able to recover any items after that. Are you sure?”
